In diesem ersten Bild stehen wir exakt an der Stelle, wo die Geisterjäger das Sedgewick Hotel betraten, um Slimer einzufangen.
Man sieht schön, dass sich dieser Eingang kaum verändert hat. Die Säulen sowie die Türen und Rahmen und sogar die Fenster sehen exakt so aus wie damals.
Da wir keinen unendlich großen Reisekoffer besitzen, mussten wir leider bei den jeweils 5 Kostümen, welche wir zu unserem Los Angeles Urlaub 2019 mitnehmen wollten ein paar Abstriche machen.
So konnten wir bis auf das P.K.E.-Meter keine Ghostbusters Ausrüstung (Protonenpack, Geisterfalle, ..) mitnehmen und auch nur den Overall und den nackten Gürtel ohne Handschuhe,
Funkgerät etc.
Ebenso ließen wir aufgrund des Platzmangels unsere Perücken, Brillen, Schmuck und sogar die Ellenbogenschoner und unsere Stiefel Zuhause. Deshalb tragen wir unsere Henry Danger Stiefel.
Das Hotelpersonal war sehr freundlich und sie freuten sich ebenso wie einige Gäste über unsere Outfits. Um den Tagesablauf nicht zu stören, machten wir diese Fotos erst am späten Abend als kaum noch Betrieb war. Die Security sprach uns einmal an, aber da wir unsere Zimmerbuchung zeigen konnten, war es kein Problem, dass wir Fotos machen. Außerdem waren wir dabei sehr vorsichtig und leise. Wir haben großen Respekt vor diesen Räumlichkeiten und haben dies sicherlich auch ausgestrahlt. :)
Falls ihr verwirrt seid, dass diese Kulisse in Kalifornien steht - Ghostbusters spielt zwar in New York, aber einige Aufnahmen wurden in Kalifornien gemacht. Wie zum Beispiel diese hier vom Sedgewick Hotel, welches in Wirklichkeit das Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles ist. Oder die Innenaufnahmen des Kellers der Bibliothek, welche ebenfalls in Kalifornien zu finden ist (weiter unten zu sehen). Und sogar die Innenaufnahmen der Feuerwache sind in Kalifornien entstanden! Dort waren wir ebenfalls.. aber leider gab es keine Möglichkeit, das Gebäude zu betreten.
In this first picture we are standing exactly where the Ghostbusters entered the Sedgewick
Hotel to capture Slimer.
You can see that this entrance has hardly changed. The pillars as well as the doors and frames and even the windows look exactly like they did back then.
Since we don't have an infinitely large suitcase, we unfortunately had to cut back on the 5 costumes we wanted to take with us on our 2019 Los Angeles vacation.
So we couldn't take any Ghostbusters equipment (Proton Pack, Ghost
Trap, ...) with us except for the P.K.E.-Meter and only the overalls and the bare belt without gloves, radio etc.
We also left our wigs, glasses, jewelry, and even our elbow pads and boots at home due to the lack of space. That's why we wear our Henry Danger boots.
The hotel staff was very friendly and they, like some of the guests, were delighted with our outfits. In order not to disturb the daily routine, we only took these photos in the late evening when
there was hardly any activity. The security spoke to us once, but since we were able to show our room reservation, it was not a problem for us to take photos. We were also very careful and quiet.
We have great respect for this space and we have certainly broadcast it. :)
In case you're confused that this set is in California, Ghostbusters is set in New York, but some recordings were made in California. Like this one from the Sedgewick Hotel, which is actually the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. Or the interior shots of the library basement, which can also be found in California (see below). And even the interior photos of the fire station were taken in California! We were there too.. but unfortunately there was no way to enter the building.

Im zweiten Bild steht Markus (modellbaubert) in dem Raum, in welchem sie damals Slimer eingefangen haben. Man sieht die selbe Vase inklusive Podest wie bei diesem Screenshot von Egon Spengler aus dem Ghostbusters Film. Ist das nicht mega abgefahren?! :D
In the second picture, Markus (modellbaubert) is standing in the room in which they captured Slimer back then. You can see the same vase including the pedestal as in this screenshot by Egon Spengler from the Ghostbusters film. Isn't that awesome ?! :D

Erkennt ihr die Decke und den gesamten Raum?
Er wurde teils neu gestrichen. Aber es ist 100%ig der Platz, an welchem Slimer eingefangen wurde! :)
Do you recognize the ceiling and the entire room?
It has been partially repainted. But it is 100% where Slimer was caught! :)

Erinnert ihr euch noch an die Fahrstuhlszene?
Diese existieren ebenfalls noch! Die Türen und Steine sehen genau gleich aus. Schaut euch mal die Dellen im Stein über Rays Protonenpack an und vergleicht sie mit unseren Fotos.
Der Stein ist derselbe - ebenso wie alles andere! :)
Der Durchgang zur weiteren Halle wurde für den Film mit Vorhängen abgehängt. Dies hatte uns zuerst irritiert weshalb wir die Aufzüge nicht zuordnen konnten.
Zu unserem Glück rief uns irgendwann der Mitarbeiter am Empfang zu uns. Wir hatten schon befürchtet, dass wir keine weiteren Fotos machen dürfen. Aber er war genauso begeistert wie wir und erzählte uns unter anderem von den Aufzügen. Jetzt konnten wir uns sicher sein, dass es diese waren - und nachdem wir Zuhause die Fotos mit dem Film vergleichen konnten sind wir uns nun 100%ig sicher! :)
Wenn man durch diesen Gang läuft kommt man übrigens in einen Empfangsraum, welchen man u.A. in Beverly Hills Cop sieht. ;)
Do you still remember the elevator scene?
These also still exist! The doors and stones look exactly the same. Take a look at the dents in the stone above Ray's Proton
Pack and compare them with our photos. The stone is the same - as is everything else! :)
The passage to the other hall was hung with curtains for the movie. This irritated us at first, which is why we could not assign the elevators.
Fortunately for us, the receptionist called us at some point. We feared that we would not be allowed to take any more photos. But he was
just as enthusiastic as we were and told us about the elevators, among other things. Now we could be sure that it was them - and after we were able to compare the photos
with the film at home, we are now 100% sure! :)
By the way, when you walk through this corridor you come to a reception room, which you can find among other things. in Beverly Hills cop sees.

the library
Die Außenaufnahmen der Bibliothek sind zwar in New York entstanden, ebenso der Innenbereich oben. Aber die Kelleraufnahmen mit dem Geist wurden in der Los Angeles Public Library gemacht!
Ein sehr netter Mitarbeiter der Bibliothek erzählte uns bei unserem Besuch, dass es 1988 in eben diesen Räumlichkeiten gebrannt hat und sie heute komplett renoviert sind. Ein paar Überbleibsel
wurden in einen anderen Teil der Bibliothek gebracht - die Karteifächer, welche im Film aufspringen und Zettel durch die Gegend werfen. Diese haben wir anschließend aufgesucht. :)
Mehr ist leider nicht übrig geblieben.
The exterior movie of the library were taken in New York, as was the interior area above. But the basement recordings with the ghost were made in the Los Angeles Public Library!
A very nice employee of the library told us during our visit that there was a fire in these same rooms in 1988 and that they are now completely renovated. A
few leftovers were moved to another part of the library - the filing slots that pop up in the film and throw slips of paper around. So we've visited them.
:)
Unfortunately, nothing more is left.

Auch bei der Feuerwache sind die Außenaufnahmen in New York, die Innenaufnahmen jedoch in Los Angeles entstanden.
Bereits 2015 hatten wir vergeblich versucht, jemanden mit einem Schlüssel zu finden, um die heiligen Räume betreten zu können. Weder Kontakte zur Feuerwehr noch welche zu amerikanischen Geisterjägergruppen halfen uns.
Spontan entschieden wir uns jedoch, wenigstens einmal vorbei zu fahren, um das Gebäude von außen zu begutachten.
Das Viertel ist leider ziemlich herunter gekommen. Aber man erkennt trotzdem noch die Feuerwache, welche schon bereits zu den Dreharbeiten still gelegt war.
Zu gern hätten wir einmal Mäuschen gespielt und wären irgendwie hinein gekommen.. vielleicht klappt es ja beim nächsten Los Angeles Urlaub. :)

As early as 2015 we tried in vain to find someone with a key to enter the sacred rooms. Neither contact with the fire brigade nor with American Ghostbusters groups helped us.
However, we spontaneously decided to drive by at least once to inspect the building from the outside.
Unfortunately, the neighborhood has come down a lot. But you can still see the fire station, which had already been shut down for filming.
We would have loved
to play little mouse once and somehow would have gotten into it.. maybe it will work on our next Los Angeles vacation. :)
